Happy 27th Birthday Fernando Torres!

I guess I’ll take this opportunity to share how I viewed Torresgate. For me, what hurt the most was the lies he told. I thought him saying that he will be at Liverpool forever and how he is loyal to Liverpool meant something, I suppose. But alas, such sayings proved to be lies. I’ll admit it, I was quite devastated when he announced his transfer request.

But, after a few months of bitching and moaning, I think I am almost completely over it. With Torres gone, I think Liverpool as a team realized they don’t have to depend on that one person in order to win games. LFC is playing more like a team recently and I enjoy watching that kind of football. On the other hand, I do not wish anything bad on Chelsea. It’s a great team and obviously they are a force to be reckon with in the EPL and in Europe. As a Liverpool fan, I wish Fernando Torres and Chelsea well (not at the expense of the Reds though!). Hopefully we all get what we want in the end.
